A Bit About Us

Founded in 1987 by a passionate collective of National School of Drama graduates, KSHITIJ Theatre Group has stood as a beacon for the promotion of Indian art and culture through the timeless medium of theatre. Led by the renowned theatre director, actor, and S.N.A awardee, Bharti Sharma, our mission has always been to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, showcasing the beauty and complexities of human relationships and the social issues that shape our world.

From our very first performance to today, we’ve been committed to producing both classical and contemporary Indian, as well as Western plays, with a focus on creating authentic, thought-provoking theatre that resonates deeply with audiences. But our reach extends far beyond the stage. Through our workshops in remote corners of the country, we aim to nurture emerging talent and ignite the love of theatre in the hearts of future generations.

Join us as we continue our legacy, creating stories that inspire, challenge, and entertain. At KSHITIJ, theatre isn’t just an art form – it’s a powerful tool for social change, reflection, and connection.

Let the journey unfold.

Testimonials

THE HINDU

Kshitij, formed by some graduates of National School of Drama, has over the years given us some good theatre and what is more, all its productions to date have been directed by former students of NSD. The moving spirit, if one may use the term, behind the group is Bharti Sharma who has been active on the Delhi stage for the past 20 years or so and has given us some good theatre. Besides theatre she has been very active on TV.

ROMESH CHANDER

They put it up briefly, but sensibly. Kshitij Theatre Group has a penchant for uncluttered and sensible theater.

INDIAN EXPRESS

Kshitij productions are invariably extremely neat, clearly articulated, and combine drama with body movement to highlight absract ideas inner turmoil, unspoken interludes. This meticulous well-groomed look places their productions a class above most amateur theartre shows.
